FAQ
Do acupuncture needles hurt?
Most people feel very little. The needles are extremely fine and sensations are usually mild — such as warmth, heaviness or a gentle ache. Treatments are always adjusted to your comfort level, and we go at your pace.
I’m anxious or sensitive — is this suitable for me?
Yes. My approach is gentle, trauma-aware and nervous-system focused. Many clients come specifically for anxiety, overwhelm or sensitivity. Needle-free AcuEnergetics sessions are also available if that feels more supportive.
What’s the difference between acupuncture and AcuEnergetics?
Acupuncture uses fine needles to support balance and healing in the body.
AcuEnergetics is a hands-on, energy-based treatment that does not use needles and works more directly with the nervous system and emotional patterns.
Integrated sessions combine both approaches.
How do I know which session to book?
You don’t need to know. You’re welcome to book what feels closest — we can always adjust the approach on the day based on how you’re feeling.
Do you offer Chinese herbal medicine?
Not at this stage. I’m currently completing studies in Chinese herbal medicine, but sessions offered are acupuncture and/or AcuEnergetics only.
How many sessions will I need?
This varies from person to person. Some people notice changes after one session, while others benefit from a short course of treatments. We’ll check in regularly and adjust based on how your body responds.
Can children receive treatment?
Yes. I work with children and adapt sessions to be gentle, age-appropriate and supportive. AcuEnergetics and non-needle approaches are often especially helpful for kids.
What should I do after a session?
Try to take things gently if you can — drink water, rest if needed, and notice how your body feels over the next few days. Simple self-care suggestions may be offered where helpful.
What if I feel emotional during or after a session?
This is completely normal. Emotional responses can be part of the body’s release process. Sessions are held in a supportive, grounded way, and you’re never pushed to go beyond what feels safe.
WHAT TO EXPECT IN YOUR FIRST SESSION
Before we begin
Your first session starts with a brief conversation about what’s been going on for you — physically, emotionally, and energetically. This helps me understand your priorities and tailor the treatment to what your body needs on the day.
There’s no rush, and you don’t need to prepare anything in advance.
During the session
Depending on what you’ve booked, your session may involve:
-
Acupuncture — fine needles placed to support balance and healing
-
AcuEnergetics — gentle, hands-on energy work (no needles)
-
Or a combination of both, with continuous practitioner support
If your session includes acupuncture, you’ll usually rest quietly once the needles are in place. If you’ve booked AcuEnergetics or an integrated session, I’ll remain present with you throughout.
Treatments are always paced gently and adjusted to your comfort level.
How you may feel
People often describe feeling:
-
More relaxed or grounded
-
Lighter emotionally
-
Calm in the body and mind
-
Tired but settled, or quietly energised
Everyone responds differently — all responses are welcome and normal.
After the session
You’re encouraged to take things gently afterwards, especially following your first treatment. Some people notice changes immediately, while others experience shifts over the following days.
If needed, I may offer simple lifestyle or self-care suggestions to support the work we’ve done.
